Updated Special Events and WIAA Policy
As we start the WIAA Season, it is important that everyone reads through the updated DCHOA Special Events and WIAA Policy. Last year, the DCHOA Board approved the updated policy and it has been added to the DCHOA Education Website. The image that we portray as officials on and off the ice sets the standard for professionalism amongst coaches and helps with our credibility as officials.
These are a few key reminders about the DCHOA Special Events and WIAA Policy:
- Arrive at the rink dressed in at least a business casual dress code
- Arrive in the referees locker room 30 minutes prior to the contracted start of JV Games
- Arrive in the referees locker room 60 minutes prior to the contracted start of Varsity games
It is up to all of us to be accountable to each other regarding this policy. We understand that work, life and weather happens. If there is an emergency and you are going to be late arriving to a game, please communicate with you partners so they know you are on your way.
