From the President

I am excited about the opportunity to lead our association this season. I have already begun working with many of our committees to plan and implement several aspirational initiatives. These include providing consistent and timely communication through this newsletter, continuing to enhance and expand our education programs, and creating opportunities to strengthen community and camaraderie among our members.

This begins with our newsletter. We will send a newsletter on the first Wednesday of every month, with an additional edition on the third Wednesday during the season (October–March). Each newsletter will feature no more than three topics, with at least one always focused on education. The remaining topics will cover timely updates related to the administrative aspects of officiating and DCHOA membership.

We will also be expanding our education programs. Over the last couple of years, we’ve made significant strides by investing time and resources to build a strong foundation. Our Board has ambitious plans to build on that progress, and I look forward to our RIC, Nano Espenes, sharing more details in the next newsletter.

Finally, we are working to schedule and host events that provide additional opportunities for our members to connect, socialize, and learn. Please be on the lookout for more information about our start-of-season event in an upcoming newsletter.

All of this will only be possible with your support. Volunteers are the backbone of our association, and we need your involvement. I encourage you to consider opportunities that align with your interests and skills. If you have a specific area of expertise and are unsure where it fits, please don’t hesitate to reach out. To express your interest, please use the Committee Volunteer Form.

As always, feel free to contact me directly with any questions.

Thank you,
Adam Johnsen
