Building the Foundation: New Official Programs
Your first season comes with dedicated support designed to help you succeed from day one.
New Official Ice Sessions
Hands-on training to prepare new officials for their first games, through live-game mentorship or on-ice drill sessions.
Black Jacket Mentors
Every new official is paired with an experienced mentor who skates alongside them, providing pre-game prep, on-ice support, and post-game feedback.
Off-Ice Coaching
New officials receive structured feedback from experienced coaches within their first 10 games to support early skill development.
Game Reflections
Learning doesn't stop when the final horn sounds. After each game, new Level 1 officials complete a short reflection covering the things that matter most early on, like pre-game preparation, face-off mechanics, positioning, and game management. It's a simple habit that builds self-awareness and helps new officials track their own growth, game after game.

Building a strong foundation was just phase one. This year, we're expanding our programming to ensure returning and advancing officials continue to receive dedicated ice time and mentorship.

Moving beyond the basics, with dedicated on-ice sessions tailored for Level 2 officials to solidify on-ice mechanics and positioning.
Off-Ice Coaching for Experienced Officials
