DCHOA Level 2 Ice Sessions

Building a strong foundation was just phase one. This season, DCHOA is introducing dedicated on-ice sessions specifically tailored for Level 2 officials, moving beyond the basics to help returning and advancing officials continue to grow.

These sessions supplement what officials have already learned in their first season, giving Level 2 officials focused, hands-on time to refine their game before the season gets underway.

📋 Session Format: Skills and Mechanics

Unlike the Live Game sessions offered for new officials, Level 2 Ice Sessions focus entirely on on-ice skills and mechanics. Sessions begin with a brief off-ice introduction covering the focus areas for the day, followed by structured drills and skill work led by DCHOA Officiating Coaches.

Drills are designed to solidify positioning, skating mechanics, and game-management fundamentals, with real-time feedback from coaches throughout the session. There's also time for Q&A at the end of each session.
